Trader fined for causing harm

Sarah Cudjoe, a 32-year-old trader, has been fined GH¢600 by the Tarkwa Circuit Court, for unlawfully causing harm to Kwamina Awuozo, a mechanic.

In default, she will serve 18 months imprisonment, in hard labour.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Edward Paddy told the court presided over by Mr. Justice Obeng Asante, that the accused and Awuozo, both  reside at Nsuaem.

He said around 2 p.m. on February 2, Awuozo had a quarrel with his younger sister, Rosemond Koomson.

Chief Inspector Paddy said the accused person later joined the quarrel and in the process, she pelted Awuozo with stones.

Awuozo, sustained a deep cut on the head, and reported the incident to the police who issued him a medical report with which to attend hospital for treatment.

Sarah was later arrested, and after investigations,  charged with the offence.
