Toyota pickup stolen from of NEDCo station at Kanyitipe

A Toyota pickup with registration number GN 606 -18, belonging to the Salaga area of Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) is reported missing.

It is believed to have been stolen from the premises of NEDCo Kanyitipe, suburb of Salaga, in the East Gonja District of the Savannah Region, on Monday morning.

The Salaga District Police Commander Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) David Kofi-Kumah, confirmed the theft to the Ghanaian Times in a telephone interview yesterday

He explained that the driver of the NEDCo, Yakubu Fatawu, reported to the police that the pickup has been stolen.

The District Police Commander stated that the driver indicated in his caution statement that after close of work, he parked the pickup in front of his residence, but he could not locate the vehicle the next morning.

DSP Kofi-Kumah stated that the police have started investigations into the matter, and had already sent information about the pickup to all check points.

He has therefore appealed to the public to assist the police retrieve the stolen vehicle, adding that the incident of stolen vehicles is on the ascendancy in the northern sector of the country. 

Four pickup vehicles have been stolen in the area between June and September, 2019.
