ACCRA Heart of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko have both been handed tough draws in next year’s GHALCA organised First Trust G6 tournament, scheduled for the Essipun Sports Stadium from January 7-10.

The pre-season soccer tourney, sponsored by First Trust Savings and Loans, will see some intriguing clashes like Kotoko versus AshantiGold and Accra Hearts of Oak versus Medeama SC being the topmost duel of the three-day competition.

Held at the Raybow Hotel in Takoradi on Thursday, the launch of the tournament also saw the 2009/2010 league champions Aduana Stars drawn in group A alongside Hearts and Medeama while group B had 2010/2011 league champions Berekum Chelsea completing the list with Kotoko and AshantiGold.

The competition, to be played in an all-play-all format, would see winners from both groups battling each other for the giant trophy at stake on January 10.

All six teams will receive an appearance fee of GH¢20,000 each with the two finalists picking an additional sum of GH¢ 10,000.

Furthermore, all participating teams will be kitted by Italian kits manufacturers Garman, who have given two sets of jerseys to each club to that effect.

According to organizers, all matches will be telecast live on Super Sport, GTV, Metro TV, Multi TV and U-TV

GHALCA as part of its welfare responsibility also donated 10 balls each to the 16 Premier League clubs and five each to all the 48 Division One clubs to be used during the pre-season preparations.
