The Ningo-Prampram District Assembly (NPDA), has commissioned a GH¢116,908 three- unit kindergarten classroom block for the Prampram D/A Basic School.
The project funded through the Assembly’s internally generated funds and the District Development Fund will accommodate all the 53 pupils currently in kindergarten 1 and 2 who were previously housed in a structure far from the school.
Commissioning the project the District Chief Executive of NPDA, Al-Hajj Sa Rhack Nartey, said the project would ensure effective supervision of the children and their handlers by the management of the school and give them a sense of being part of the basic school.
He said the project also fitted in the policies and programmes outlined in the Ghana Shared Growth Development Agenda which aims at increasing access to education, improve quality of education and enhance the delivery of education services.
Al-Hajj Nartey said within three years of its existence the assembly had embarked on a number of educational and health projects to uplift the district from the doldrums.
He added that the assembly had signed four contracts for the construction of six-unit classroom blocks for Prampram Anglican D/A Basic School, Amanakpo D/A Basic School and Kpongunor D/A Basic School.
Al-Hajj Nartey said, a three unit classroom block has also been planned for Koni-Kabu D/A Basic School while 500 dual desks have been ordered for the newly completed schools among others
He urged the teachers to take good care of the facility.
Al-Hajj Nartey appealed to parents to pay attention to the education of their children as that was the best legacy they can leave them.
The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency, Mr. Enoch T. Mensah, on his part called on residents to support the assembly by paying their rates regularly to ensure rapid development of the district.
