Three Nabbed For Robbing Warehouses

The police in Brong-Ahafo have arrested three people for their alleged involvement in a robbery.

Mohammed Iddrisu, 39, a car dealer, Nana Yaw Kyeremeh, 30, an illegal miner, and Eric Addae, 38, a driver also known as “Dada”, allegedly broke into a warehouse in Sunyani on October 29, and made away with GH¢100,000.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani on Friday, Supt Alhaji Maama Arhin, Brong-Ahafo Regional Crime Officer, said the suspects would soon be arraigned before court for unlawful entry, robbery and attempted murder.

He said Nana Kyeremeh was arrested in Sunyani, while his accomplices were rounded up at their hideout in Kumasi.

Supt. Arhin said Nana Kyeremeh, a native of Sunyani, invited the two accomplices from Kumasi, adding that on the night of October 29, they broke into Chambees Company Limited in Sunyani and stole the money.

He said the suspects parked the 4 X 4 Ford Escape, with fake registration number AS5105-14 they were using in front of the warehouse, and informed the two watchmen at post, Kwadwo Amankwaah, 38, and Osei Bonsu, 62, that the vehicle had developed a fault.

Supt. Arhin said the suspects gave the watchmen, who sympathised with them, some tea and fried eggs which they had allegedly lazed with some tablets, and after they had eaten they dozed off.

The suspects, however, broke into the warehouse and stole a cash safe containing the money and fled, he said.

Supt. Arhin said the suspects admitted the crime and confessed to the police that they had shared the booty.
