Tema Medical Stores fire poses no danger now – GNFS

??????????The Deputy Public Relations Officer for the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Divisional Officer II, Prince Billy Anaglate says the fire outbreak at the Central Medical Stores of the Ghana Health Service at Tema which was engulfed by fire on Tuesday is no more a threat.

He said at the moment the strategy, was to use excavators to turn over the heat source below the debris being cooled down by water, to douse the heat source, while the debris were being cleared from the place.

The fire officer, however, said that the GNFS had collected “all that it needs for it’s investigation” and, therefore, the clearing of the place would not tamper with evidence.

Mr. Anaglate said much as there is no cause for alarm, the public is discouraged from trooping to the place.

When The Ghanaian Times visited the scene of the fire on Thursday afternoon the fire was in its smoldering state and the fire personnel still at post.

Meanwhile some members of the public have started collecting some of the condoms at the place to amuse themselves.

While others are using it for “balloons” others were pouring water into them for the fun of it.
