Tamale Poly holds matriculation

The Tamale Polytechnic has introduced a Bachelor of Technology programme in Accounting with computing for 2014/2015 academic year.

The Rector of the Polytechnic Dr. Abdulai Salifu Asuro disclosed this at the 21st matriculation ceremony for fresh students into the polytechnic.

He said a number of applications were received and were being processed to admit the first batch of students into the new programme, adding that the additional programme was to address the increasing needs of the industrial sector.

Dr Asuro added that the polytechnic had also introduced including Fashion, Modelling and Designing to improving professional training in those sectors..

He said the main focus of the programmes were also to introduce innovations into the fashion industry.

In addition, he said other courses such as HND Purchasing and Supply, HND Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, HND welding and Fabrication, HND Civil Engineering and B-Tech programmes in Agricultural Engineering and Business Management were being developed for accreditation.

The Rector said the polytechnic has signed a three year pact with the “Institut National Polytechnique  of Yamoussoukro in Cote d’voire to undertake an exchange programme for both students and lecturers of the two institutions to promote technological and scientific exchanges.
