Tamale NDC Executives Unhappy With Party

NDCBranch executives and supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Tamale Central Constituency of the Northern Region, have vowed to participate in any activity of the party.

The spokesperson of the branch executives Mr. Issah Dabali, at a news conference Sunday in Tamale said: “We will never take part in any activity of the party in this constituency until the national and regional executives of the party render unqualified apology to us for neglecting us,” he stated.

The action of the branch executives was to register their displeasure at the failure of the national and region executives to show up in a meeting scheduled Sunday.

A team made up of some national and regional executives on an outreach programme in the region failed to meet the branch executives of the Tamale Constituency on two occasions.

This action of the team has not gone down well with the branch executives.  According to them the national and regional executives were not caring for the grassroots of the party, stressing that “all that they care is for money”.

They pointed out that none of the executives in the region was interested in the progress of the NDC but were only interested in contracts and other material benefits.

The group maintained that NDC was wining elections in the region and the constituency not because of the hard work of any executive but it was because people of the region just like NDC.

They, therefore, pleaded with President John Dramani Mahama to call the regional executives to order because their actions and inactions could affect the party negatively in the coming elections.

Mr. Rashid Taako Computer, Northern Regional Treasurer of the NDC, in an interview with The Ghanaian Times, blamed the problem on miscommunication, saying the executives would meet the group and explain issues to them in due course.
