GHANA’s Emmanuel Tagoe at the weekend knocked out Filipino Carlo Magali to defend his WBA International welterweight title.
Tagoe, known in boxing circles as “Game Boy” maintained his unbeaten run in 25 bouts after knocking down his opponent in the ninth round.
The Ghanaian had dominated through from the first round before stopping the highly-rated Magali.
‘Game Boy’ prior to the bout had only lost once in his 26 fights with Magali winning his last five bouts.
The Felipino came into the fight with a lot of expectation, having recently secured a famous win over American boxer Billy Graham who died days after the bout.
Tagoe was given some morale support from his boss and promoter, Asamoah Gyan, who was there to witness the fight.
