The Catholic ‘A’ Junior High School at Agona Swedru, has been crowned as the  best performing school in the 2015 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results  for  both private and Public Junior High Schools in Central Region.

Theophilus Addo- Zutah, Headmaster of the School made this known when he addressed a thanksgiving service at St. Anthony Peudua Catholic Church at Agona Swedru.

He said the school also won the most improved School Award in 2015 BECE results in the Region.

The School also placed third best in Mathematics in the exams. Its kindergarten department was also adjudged the best by the Ghana Education Service

The thanksgiving service was organised by the Church in honour of the teachers of the school and 2015 BECE Candidates for producing quality results.

The Headmaster said the four prestigious awards were given to the School at the 2015 National Best Teacher Awards held in Tamale in the Northern Region.

He appealed to the Agona West Municipal Assembly, NGO’s, corporate bodies and government to offer more assistance towards the school’s development.

Mr. Addo-Zutah said the Assembly had approved the construction of a three -classroom block in honour of the best BECE award winner in the region.

Reverend Father Felix Acquah-Gyan, Parish Priest of the Church, commended the teachers for their hardwork and tireless efforts that had achieved the significant success for the school.

He said the Church Management has plans to honour the teachers for their meritorious and selfless services that had brought about quality teaching and learning at the school.

He said the Church would also honour Mr. Addo- Zutah for exhibiting unprecedented management skills.
