Super Night Hits Accra…As feared Bukom Banku faces South African December 20

Bukom-BankuThe Accra Sports Stadium has been famous with staging jumbo-size fights over the years; and on December 20, 2014, the arena is once again expected to rumble to yet another appetising contests.

The contest are to staged by Super Entertainment Boxing Promotions (SEBP). The occasion, which is dubbed ‘Super Night,’ will feature cruiserweight champion and people’s man Braimah Kamoko, alias Bukom Banku.

Banku, who is under the banner of SEBP, fights Brazil-based South African Thabiso Mogale on the night for the World Boxing Federation (WBF) world title eliminator on December 20.

Winner of this potentially engaging slugfest will contest for the WBF title in Sydney, Australia, sometime in February next year under the Super Entertainment Promotion.

Bukom Banku is undefeated in 27 bouts with 20 knockouts and has been tipped by the bookmakers to finish off the South African who has won 16 times and lost by the same number — with two of the fights ending in a stalemate.

Also on the bill is a light middleweight clash involving the hard-hitting Joshua Clottey — a former winner of the World Boxing Federation  (WBF),  International Boxing Federation (IBF) Inter-Continental and Commonwealth welterweight titles.

Clottey, who wields a record of 28 wins (KO 17) with four losses and a draw, takes on 38-year-old veteran of the ring Adriano Dos Santos of Brazil in a lightweight bout.

The USA-based Andriano, nicknamed Pipoca, has won  19 times — 14 of which were within the distance with seven losses. (KO 14) and a draw, is unwavering to give Clottey a fight of his life.

In other fights under the card, Ayitey Powers slugs it out with Atoli Moore in a light heavy weight clash; John Amuzu engages Ray Commey in a super bantamweight thriller, while Ben Odametey takes on Samuel Turkson in a lightweight tie.

As a side attraction, there would be guest artists from the Super Entertainment Record label to give the audience a memorable treat on the night.
