Sturridge stunner rescues Liverpool

DANIEL Sturridge came off the bench to snatch a dramatic late equaliser as Liverpool rescued a 1-1 draw at Chelsea following a pulsating top of the table clash at Stamford Bridge.

The Reds forward curved a stunning 25-yard effort into the far corner in the last minute to net his 50th league goal for the club and keep Jurgen Klopp’s side’s unbeaten start intact.

Chelsea had looked on course for victory after Eden Hazard followed up his sublime winner in the League Cup clash between the sides in midweek with another brilliant effort on 25 minutes.

The result sees Liverpool’s perfect start come to an end and they sit second, behind Manchester City on goal difference. Chelsea are two points further back in third place.

The Merseysiders will now turn their attention to a midweek Champions League trip to Napoli before a crunch clash with Pep Guardiola’s City at Anfield on Sunday.
