A FINAL-year student of the Akatsi College of Education, Frank Worentetu, died instantly when he fell from a coconut tree on the campus on Saturday.
Reports reaching The Ghanaian Times at Ho yesterday, indicated that the incident took place at about 10 a.m.
According to the report although the college was on vacation, third year students were on the campus for a two-week On- Campus- Teaching- Practice (OCTP).
The deceased, who was said to be in his mid twenties, had just completed the OCTOP and assigned to the Akatsi Practice School for his teaching practice when the tragedy occurred.
A source close to the college said that, Worentetu earlier climbed a coconut tree and plucked some of the coconuts for his mates.
He, then climbed another coconut tree to pluck some for himself this time, only to fall from the top of the tree to his death, the source said.
The body of Worentetu has since been deposited at the St. Paul’s Hospital mortuary, opposite the college for autopsy.
