The Street Academy has held its annual health walk in Accra with the call on parents and guardians to ensure their children grow in a healthy environment.

The 2017 edition of the walk held over the weekend was under the theme “a healthy child today, a healthy nation tomorrow.

It started at the Academy’s base at the Accra Art Centre and went through the Accra Metropolitan Authority (AMA) area to Makola, Tudu, Farisco, MTTU, UTC, Timber Market, Palladium, James Town and back to the starting point.

The almost two-hour walk brought together over 400 participants including kids from the Academy, past students, volunteers as well as corporate bodies.

Speaking after the walk, Senior Investment Manager at GroFin Ghana Limited, sponsors of the Academy, Mr. Raymond Denteh, lauded the Academy for its role in getting kids off the street and giving them education.

“The Academy’s line of thought falls in line with what we do at Grofin where we help push people up for all to live a very comfortable life.”

He said his company could partner the Academy for a while in order to give them the necessary support give the kids a very bright future.

Executive Director of Street Academy, Ataa Lartey, called on Ghanaians to set good examples for the younger generation by ensuring a clean environment and exercise to stay fit and healthy.
