Stephen Oduro appointed Kotoko ambassador

Kumasi Asante Kotoko has announced a farewell package for retired midfielder, Stephen Oduro.
Oduro spent close to 12 years at the Asanteman club since joining from  Real Tamale United (RTU) in 2000.
His stay was truncated by a move to South Africa’s Supersport where he stayed for a period of five years.
The club’s Accra Representative and Premier League Board member, Thomas Boakye Agyeman revealed the package for the dimunitive player to the club’s official website, Asantekotokosc.com.
Having hanged his boots, Oduro, according to Mr Agyeman, would play the role of a club Ambassador. That is expected to keep him close to the team.
He also revealed that the club will bear the cost covering his study of a coaching programme till he secures the Confederation of African Football (CAF) License ‘A’ certificate or any other administrative qualification.
Oduro, according to the Kotoko regional representative, will continue to enjoy his salary while management look at ways to organise a testimonial match in his honour.
“Finally, his jersey number four (4) would be retired pending approval from the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).
