StarTimes launches exciting promotion

Africa’s leading digital television operator StarTimes is giving out free decoders to Ghanaians. The move which is part of the company’s one year anniversary celebrations is also to enable every citizen have a feel of digital television, as the nation prepares gradually to migrate from analog to digital television.

Speaking at the launch of its “Eye free decoder promotion” campaign  in Accra, the Chief Executive Officer of StarTimes , Mr Felix Ahonyo said the move seeks to reward all Ghanaians.

He noted that the company feels generous as part of their anniversary celebrations and what customers need to do is to pay one month subscription for their super bouquet High Definition (HD) Decoder.

“As part of the anniversary celebrations, StarTimes would be giving out free HD decoders to every Ghanaian,” he said. The aim is to migrate the populace to become part of the digital television platform, as the nation is gradually moving from analogue to digital television,” he said.

 

Mr Ahonnyo said the company is currently the leading digital television in Africa, serving nearly 10 million subscribers and covering 90 per cent of the continent’s population with massive distribution network.

“We run a satellite pay television service that works with a satellite dish and decoder. It is our aim that every person on the continent enjoys digital television with very less cost,” he said.

 

Head of Marketing of StarTimes, Ms Akorfa Djankui said StarTimes service remain accessible nationwide and that loyal customers would also be rewarded for sticking with the company for the past year.
