Stars To Arrive In Uganda On Thursday

starsGHANA’S contingent for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against uganda will arrive in Kampala on Thursday, two days before playing the Cranes.

The Black Stars will start training in Accra today under caretaker coach Maxwell Konadu whose interim role has been extended.

Uganda have slim hopes of making it to next year’s finals after suffering back-to-back defeats to Togo last month.

The Cranes must beat the Black Stars to revive their campaign and will take a lot of inspiration from their impressive 1-1 draw in the corresponding fixture played at the Baba Yara Stadium two months ago.

Ghana are on top of Group E with 8 points; two more than closet challengers Togo who host Guinea in Lome.

Meanwhile, Spain-based goalkeeper Razak Brimah has been handed a return to the Black Stars after missing last month’s games against Guinea.

The 27-year-old has been named in Ghana’s 23-man squad released officially last Sunday for the final round of 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Uganda and Togo.

Brimah was prevented by his club, CD Mirandes from joining the Ghana team last term due to the late arrival of his call up.

He was also just coming back from a jaw injury he sustained while on international duty.

The former FC Nania shot-stopper has however, since that period, recovered fully from his injury and played for hos club in last Saturday’s goalless draw against Real Valladolid in the Spanish second tier.
