Stars Begins Preparations




GhanaGhana’s senior national team, Black Stars, will begin full training today ahead of their earth-cracking 2014 World Cup play-off against Egypt on October 15, next week. According to the programme of activities lined up for the Stars, the team which started camping on Sunday, will start preparations this afternoon at 4.pm, after which there would be media briefing by the FA’s Media Officer.

The rest of the team’s programme are as follows:

Wednesday, October 9  Morning training session at the Accra Sports Stadium at 9am. (Media interviews with players will be allowed after the training session).Team departs to Kumasi at 1500. No training session in the evening.

Thursday, October 10: Two training sessions will be held. The first one will be at 0900 and it is open to the media and public for viewing. (No media interviews with players. There will be a media briefing at the end of the training session by a media officer).The second training session will be held at 1530 and it will be closed to the media and public.

Friday, October 11:  – Friendly match with lower division side Deportivo at the Baba Yara Stadium at 1600. (No media interviews with players. There will be a media briefing at the end of the training session by a media officer).  Saturday, October 12: Training will be held at 0900. (No media interviews with players. There will be a media briefing at the end of the training session by a media officer).

Sunday, October 13: – Training will be held at 1600. (No media interviews with players).There will be a media briefing at the end of the training session by a media officer).

Monday, October 14: – Ghana team press conference at 16:30 at the Baba Yara Stadium. Training starts at 1700. (Egypt team pre-match press conference tentatively fixed for 15:30 at the same venue).
