The Star International Preparatory and Junior High School has launched its Silver Jubilee Celebrations at Teshie, in Accra.

It is on the theme “Facilitating the pursuit of future career opportunities by our students in this digital age.”

As part of the programme, the school also launched a new logo.

Launching the event, Ben Shamo, proprietor of the school, called on parents to allow their wards make their own career choices.

He said parents should rather study their children’s interests and help them develop  them.

“Some children are not academically good but have other talents and when nurtured well will bring honour to the family and the nation at large,” he said.

Mr Shamo said as part of the celebration, the school had outlined a number of programmes, including Television Talk Shows to help the pupils develop their public speaking skills and also build their confidence.

He said the television talk shows would serve as an exposure for the children.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Kyei Baffour described the school’s academic performance within the past six years as phenomenal.

He said 18 candidates who sat for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) passed with distinction and were placed in good schools.

Mr Baffour said the school would organise a clean-up exercise, a football match, donate to the LEKMA Hospital and hold a church service to climax the year-long programme.
