Known as the Online Validation of Contribution Reports, employers could electronically send monthly contribution reports on their staff to SSNIT offices across the country.
The Operations Monitoring Manager of the Accra North Area Office of SSNIT, Ms Juliana Decardi-Nelson, who disclosed this during an employers’ seminar in Accra last Thursday, said SSNIT was transiting from the manual processing of SSNIT contributions reports to an electronic and online system.
The objective of the seminar, which formed part of the annual Customer Clinic Week, was to introduce selected employers in the Accra North Area of SSNIT, to the Online Validation of Contribution Reports.
She explained that the Online Validation of Contribution was to reduce paper work and the hurdle of employers physically reporting to SNNIT offices to submit monthly reports, and making subsequent payment of their workers’ social security contributions.
Ms Decardi-Nelson said the seminar provided the opportunity for the Accra North Area Office to explain to employers who were using the SSNIT Web Portal to process their staff social security contributions, on their obligations and sanctions under the SSNIT scheme.
Highlighting on the other programmes to mark the customer clinic week which is held annually by SSNIT, Ms Decardi-Nelson mentioned a float and SSNIT Customer Service Mobile Clinic, where stands were erected at vantage points of the city to create awareness on SSNIT and address the challenges facing members of the scheme.
During the float, which started from the Accra North Area Office through Kaneshie, Mallam and Industrial Area, she said her outfit shared brochures and educated the general public on the SSNIT scheme.
Ms Decardi-Nelson said the objective of SSNIT was to rope in more workers onto the scheme to make it sustainable so that workers who went on retirement especially those currently going on retirement could be paid their retirement benefits, and that was the reason why the customer clinic week was introduced to sensitise the public on the SSNIT scheme.
Ms Decardi-Nelson entreated all workers to register onto the scheme to guarantee their future income security.
