Mr. Kekula said the construction was part of the SOS’ responsibility to provide access to better education for vulnerable children in the country.

He lamented that, majority of the people in the community were unable to cater for the needs of their children especially with regards to education due to high poverty rate.

“Bad infrastructure and lack of other educational materials lead to drop out of schools and discourage the parents to invest in their wards as well,” he added.

Mr. Kekula also said that, the new school block was to absorb more children and provide enough classrooms for effective learning and teaching in the community.

He urged the chiefs and parents to invest into the education of their children in order for them to be responsible people in future.

Mr. Titi Ofei charged the teachers to be devoted to their duties and also take care of the facility in order to serve the community for a longer period.

Naa Alhassan thanked the management of SOS Villages for their kind gesture and promised to spearhead a good maintenance culture of the facility to serve generations yet unborn. Photo: Geoffrey Buta,Tamale
