SMU holds matriculation

The Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) Ghana Learning Center has held a matriculation ceremony for 431 fresh students at its campus in Accra.

A statement from the University said Mr. Eric Hanson, the Assistant Registrar, administered the matriculation oath to the new students comprising students from Ghana and other West African countries.

Mr Hanson also enjoined the students to abide by the rules and regulations of  the institution.

The Rector, Dr. Abhishek Tyagi, congratulated the matriculants on their successful admission and urged them to avail themselves of the numerous opportunities provided by the College.

The Rector announced that the University’s e-Iearning platform would soon link SMU students up with renowned institutions abroad for knowledge-sharing.

The Dean in charge of Academic affairs, Mr. Satya Vir Singh, urged the matriculants be disciplined and dedicated to their studies, and assured them of support through their respective programmes.

The Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Mr. Ato Amoaning-Annan,advised the students not to settle for mediocrity, reminding them that “only the best is good for Africa.”
