SIC Insurance has, through the Joy Needy Fund, donated various items valued at GH¢20,000 and a cash of GH¢10,000 to the June 3 flood and fire disaster victims.

The items included bags of rice, vegetable oil, instant noodles, blankets, mattresses, washing soap and sachet water.

Presenting the items, the acting managing director of SIC Insurance, Kwei Mensah Ashidam, said as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, it felt duty bound to go to the aid of the suffering as insurance was about supporting people to get back on their feet when in distress.

Mr. Ashidam commended the Multimedia Group for its sensitivity and initiative, and hoped the presentation from SIC Insurance alongside those from other corporate bodies and individuals would help alleviate the sufferings of the flood victims.

Mrs. Edem Knight-Tay, host of Home Affairs and producer of   Drive Time on Joy Fm, who received the items on behalf of the victims, commended the SIC Insurance for the gesture.

She appealed to other corporate bodies to emulate the SIC Insurance example.
