TWO Senior High School graduates have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping a 16-year-old Junior High School student at Darkuman, in Accra.
Seth Amoako and Kelvin Wood were said to have raped the girl (name withheld) in turns.
Two other accomplices, Evanda, the victim’s boyfriend, and Emmanuel are currently on the run and being sought by the police.
A fifth suspect, Desmond Akwatia, 18, is also being held for indecent assault.
Emmanuel was reported to have taken a video of the escapades.
The officer in-charge of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU), Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP), Anita Abrokwa, told The Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday that the victim had been in a relationship with Evanda since last year, and she threatened to quit the relationship.
DSP Abrokwa said on March 10, at about 7:30 p.m., Evanda went to the victim’s house at Darkuman when her parents had travelled. He asked her to accompany him to a friend’s house to collect his uniform at Darkuman, and she obliged.
According to him, on reaching his friend’s room, Evanda made an attempt to rape her but she resisted which annoyed her boyfriend who left the room.
He said Seth, Kelvin and Emmanuel later entered the room and raped the girl in turns.
