Shai Osudoku Assembly gets govt appointees

Ten government appointees of the Shai Osudoku District Assembly were yesterday sworn into office.
The move was to get the full complement of members of the assembly, so that it could nominate two persons to represent the area in the upcoming Council of State elections for the region.

They are, Dr. Nene Tei Djahene Korabo IV, Chief of Manye Jorpanya, Mr. Johnson K. Kornyefe, Arimiyao Harruna, Halima Umaru, Narh Kwanor and Noah Sabutey.
The rest are Nana Dokua Amponsah III, Stephano Onumah, Joseph Kofi Apafo and Theophilus Narteh.
The Presiding Member of the assembly, Mr. Benjamin Manye, speaking at the ceremony, urged the members to take decisions that would help promote the development of the area.
According to Mr.Manye, the area had been deprived for so long and the time had come for the current members to hold on to their dreams and adopt measures that would make life bearable for the people.
“You need to hold on to your dreams and be part of the decisions making process that would enhance the development credentials of the area,” Mr. Manye said.

Mr. Manye urged the assembly members to avoid partisanship in order to contribute meaningfully to the development of the Shai State.
The District Coordinating Director, Mr. Kofi Boateng Acheampong, asked the members to focus on the development of the area.
He indicated that the area was abound in natural resources, hence the need for the people to be part of the decision making process to promote the development agenda.
The Member of Parliament of the area, Mrs. Akweley Ocloo, assured the members of her support to promote the development of the area.
