Hannah Arthur, 30, unemployed, who paraded herself as a nurse at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, took the money from Patience Afriyie Amponsah an interior decorator, to secure admission for the victim’s daughter into the nursing school.
The Police had so far retrieved a nursing uniform from her house at Ablekuma Abease in Accra.
A police source at the Odorkor District Police Command told The Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday that early this September last year the suspect collected the money from Afriyie and failed to honour her promise.
According to the source, efforts by Patience to retrieve the money failed and a report was made to the police.
The source said the suspect who was arrested on Tuesday admitted to the offence.
The Police source indicated that background checks at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital revealed that she was not a nurse at the facility.
He said investigations into the case were ongoing and she would be charged for fraud and impersonation.
