As part of preparations towards the December 7 general elections, security personnel in the Brong-Ahafo Region yesterday undertook a 15-kilometre route march through some principal streets of the capital Sunyani.
The march started at 8am from the Jubilee Park and ended at the same venue.
Addressing the officers and men of the security agencies after the exercise, Lt-Col. Edward Awaribey, Commander of the 3rd Garrison, Liberation Barracks, called on the personnel to exhibit professionalism at their various duty points on the Election Day.
He warned that any officer found misconducting him or herself while on duty would be dealt with, adding that security forces did not belong to any political party but to Ghana.
Lt-Col. Awaribey also warned people intending to cause trouble on the Election Day to rethink as they would not been spared.
On his part, the Regional Police Commander, Maxwell Atingane, cautioned the personnel to carry their food and anything they would need while on duty and not demand favours from the parties.
He advised the media to collaborate with the security agencies to ensure a violent free election come December 7.
