School Fees Ghana Limited says it has set aside about GH¢1million to pay school fees for pupils and students across the country for the 2016/2017 academic year.

This is to enable parents and students to access the fees payment facility for the next academic year which begins in July.

School Fees Ghana, which offers the fees facility on loan to relieve parents and students who do not readily have money to pay school fees, said its loan facility would continue to increase for the benefit of students.

A statement issued by the company noted that the allocation for fees was reviewed upward during a performance review meeting by the Board.

Robert Kofi Amoako, Board Chairman of School Fees Ghana, was quoted by the statement as saying that an additional GH¢500,000 was being arranged, in partnership with financial institutions, to support school dropouts to return to school.

“Over 3,000 students and pupils from all levels of education benefited from our facility last year,” he said.

According to Mr. Amoako, parents who are actively employed in any field of endeavour may apply to School Fees Ghana for assistance irrespective of their income levels.

He added, School Fees Ghana is seeking collaboration with tertiary institutions in the country to enable them introduce their product to all students, especially the fresh students at their orientation programmes.

He gave the assurance that his outfit has the capacity to address the financial needs of all pupils and students, and assured them of adequate support in enhancing their education.
