Satellites’ coach to submit 35-man list to FIFA

TsllsBLACK Satellites coach, Sellas Tetteh will submit a list of 35 players to FIFA tomorrow ahead of the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup.

Coach Sellas Tetteh is expected to release his 35-man provisional squad for this year’s World Youth Championships in New Zealand.

The squad will then be pruned down to 21 which will represent the country at the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Ghana will making her eighth World Youth Championships appearance having participated in the 1993, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2009 and 2013 editions of the competitions.

The 2009 World Champions will be hoping to repeat their excellent feat in Egypt after making history by becoming the first African country to win the FIFA Youth Championships.

Ghana finished third at the just ended Africa Youth Championships in Senegal.

The team has been paired in Group B together with former World Champions Argentina, Panama and Austria at the 2015 World Youth Championships.

Meanwhile, the Black Satellites will pitch camp in New Zealand ahead of the 2015 World Youth Championships. can exclusively confirm.

Coach Sellas Tetteh’s side are expected to acclimatise themselves with the weather condition in the host country which is said to be in the region of 10-15°C.

“We will be starting camping very soon and this time around we have decided to pitch camp straight away in New Zealand because the condition there is very humid,” Management committee Chairman Winfred Osei Parma said on GTV’s Sunday night live.

Ghana, who will be based in the New Zealand capital of Willington have been drawn in Group B with Argentina, Panama and Austria at the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup.

The Black Satellites will open their Group campaign with a tricky tie against Austria on May 30 before facing favorites Argentina three days later and then wrap-up their group matches with a game against Panama on June 5.
