RMU Admits 750

rmuThe Regional Maritime University (RMU) last Friday admitted 750 students for the 2013/2014 academic to pursue various Masters, Bachelor of Science and Higher Diploma programmes.

Courses to be offered include Master of Arts (Port and Shipping Administration), B.Sc. Marine Engineering, B.Sc. Nautical Science, B.Sc. Electrical/Electronic Engineering, B.Sc. Computer Engineering and B.Sc. Logistics Management.

The others are B.Sc. Ports and Shipping Administration, Diploma in Ports and Shipping Management, Marine Engineering and Nautical Science.

Speaking at the eleventh matriculation ce-remony, the Rector of the school, Capt. A.O Turkson, congratulated the students for making it through the difficult processes of admission.

“Permit me to congratulate you for sailing through our stringent and competitive admission procedures”, he stated.
He added that, it was important for students to do their best in order to complement the efforts of the school to ensure quality education and total upbringing.

The rector stressed that the students were now part of one of the most prestigious academic communities in the world, surrounded by professionals to assist them achieve their academic endeavors.

“In this environment, you will have enormous opportunities to deepen your education, expand your understanding of society and the natural world as well as a professional education to launch your career’, he stated.

He further encouraged them to take advantage of the opportunities the school offers to become useful to themselves and society.
Students were also guided through the Semester Unit System of the school and advised to take examinations seriously since failure to do so would be to their own detriment. By Michael D. Abayateye
