Razak Keeps A Clean Slate

razakGhanaian goalkeeper Razak Braimah kept his third successive clean sheet to help Cordoba to a 2-0 win over Almeria in the Spanish second tier.

The 26-year-old’s move to the White and Green have coincided with their good run of form as they have now gone three games without conceding with the Ghana international in post.

Goals from Mendigutxia and Rafa Galvez earned the vital win for Jose Antonio Romero’s side against Almeria who are also battling relegation.

Despite their good form in recent matches, Cordoba remain in the relegation zone – three points from safety.

Their winning streak is however encouraging to their survival bid powered by the efficient goalkeeping of the Ghanaian goalkeeper.

Braimah appears to have regained his form and confidence since his January move from bankrupt CD Guadalajara

Veteran Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Kingson failed to appear in Balikesirspor’s Turkish Lig. 1 game on Sunday as they beat Tavsanli Linyitspor 2-0.

The 35-year-old completed a six-month short term move to the second-tier side on Thursday and was expected to mark his debut on Sunday but was not in their team as they travelled away to win.

His failure to appear in the game could be due to paperwork.

The former Blackpool goalkeeper is eager to rediscover his form to enable him gain selection into the Ghana World Cup squad.

Anthony Annan continued to earn playing time at Schalke as he steps up his recovery.

The holding middleman was a 66th minute substitute for the Royal Blues in their 3-2 friendly win over Eintracht Frankfurt in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

Annan recovered last month from an ankle injury he sustained in February 2013  and was named Jens Keller’s set-up during their mid-season training tour of Doha.

He has six months left on his contract and could leave the club

But Annan could be convinced to stay on and handed a contract extension if he meets the expectations of coach Keller. Compatriot Kevin-Prince Boateng scored in the win.
