Rashford nets late winner for Utd

MARCUS Rashford scored a stoppage-time winner as Manchester United came from behind to claim a much-needed 2-1 away win over Bournemouth.

The result lifts United, who were without Romelu Lukaku through injury for their trip to the south coast, level on points with Bournemouth in sixth place in the Premier League table, but the hosts will rue missed opportunities.

The Cherries started strongly and got their rewards after just 11 minutes when Callum Wilson finished off a move that saw the United defence split open by Junior Stanislas, helped by poor defending from the visitors.

But Jose Mourinho’s side equalised against the run of play 10 minutes before the interval, with Anthony Martial finding the back of the net from 12 yards out following a good run and cut back by Alexis Sanchez.

United built on this and improved significantly in the second half, but failed to find the goal to put them ahead until stoppage time when Rashford controlled a Paul Pogba cross and smashed home from close range at the second attempt.

It was enough to give the away side all three points ahead of games against Juventus and Manchester City next week. – Eurosport
