BLACK Queens management committee chairperson, Leanier Afiye-Obo Addy, has been re-elected onto the powerful Executive Committee after beating main challenger Habiba Atta Forson yesterday.
Madam Addy will remain the sole representive of Constituent Bodies of the GFA Executive Committee for another 4-year term.
She polled six votes to beat Madam Habiba Atta Forson, who got two out of a total of 8 votes cast in the elections held at the GFA Secretariat on Monday morning.
Madam Addy will be part of the 22 individuals who will make up the committee.
Delegates for the election were drawn from the Constituent Bodies which include Women’s Football, the Referees Association of Ghana, the Security Services, Schools and Colleges, Coaches Association, Players, Juvenile Football and University Sports.
Elections for the representatives of the Premier League and Division One Clubs will be held on Tuesday, September 29, at the secretariat of the GFA.
In another development the Black Princesses gained first leg advantage in the penultimate qualifying round to the 2016 FIFA U20 World Cup by beating Equatorial Guinea 1-0 last Sunday.
Wasila Diwura-Soale scored the only goal which divided the two sides in Malabo.
The return leg will be played at the weekend between October 9-11 in Accra.
If they progress to the final round, they will join three other teams who clash in a round robin exercise.
The top two teams will qualify for the final tournament in Papua New Guinea.
