Parents have been admonished to invest in the knowledge of their children by purchasing reading materials for them.

The move according to the managing director of Winmat Publishers Limited, Mr Edward Addo  would help enrich their vocabulary and knowledge of the children.

Mr Addo made this known at the launch of a book titled “My Time, My Nation” by Emeritus Professor George Benneh.

He expressed the view that though schools feed children with reading materials at the libraries, parents must support schools by investing in reading books for their children.

Launching the 15 chapter book Professor Kwabena Nketia said the book is a master piece that everyone would enjoy reading.

Prof. Nketia opined that there were a lot of books in the market but parents must look out for quality ones to purchase for their children.

He commended Professor George Benneh for writing such a master piece that would go a long way to add value to the various societies in the country.

In his remarks, the chairman for the occasion, Nene Sakitey, the Konor of Manya Krobo said the publication reflects the good works of Prof. Benneh.

He commended the author for such a great piece meant to add value to the reading public.

He urged all to get a copy of the book and read to appreciate the good works of Prof. Benneh since the book renders many lessons for Ghanaians.

In his statement, Prof. Benneh thanked God for making his brain function at a very old age in putting the book together.

He further thanked former presidents of the country for supporting him in all his endeavours.

“Though the journey of putting this book together has not been easy, it has been worth it considering the enormous support I have enjoyed from former and current leaders of our dear nation,” he added.
