Pupils Of Pens And Pencils Int. School Visit Times

DSCF1437Pupils  from the Pens and Pencils International School at Ablekuma, Agape, yesterday paid a visit to the New Times Corporation, publishers of The Ghanaian Times and The Spectator newspaper to acquaint themselves with operations of the corporation.

The children, led by the Assistant Head Master, Mr. Prince Obeng toured the newsroom, the art studio, the photo department and the production section.

Addressing the children, the News Editor, Mr. Matthew Ayoo, said the corporation was established by the late President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah in 1958 and is one of the most credible newspapers in the country.

The newspaper, he said provided a platform where individual grievances and issues of national importance were featured.
“The Ghanaian Times has been Ghana’s most authoritative newspaper and would continue to entertain, inform and educate the public with credible information which would continue to improve the economic development of the country,” he said.

He urged parents to purchase the paper for their wards since that would broaden their scope of knowledge on issues relating to national development.

Mr. Ayoo also advised the children to inculcate the habit of reading the paper and other books which would help in their quest to be leaders in the future.

Mr. Obeng expressed gratitude to the management of the corporation for the opportunity to have first hand information on the operations of the corporation. He urged the management to continue the good work since the paper was regarded as credible and reliable in the country.  –  Bernard Benghan
