The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Breman Asikuma Senior High School, has donated 100 mono desks valued at GH¢80,000 to the school.
The gesture is to help address the problem of insufficient desks for the students, due to the increasing student population.
Mr. Eric Appiah, the PTA chairman, who made the presentation said the gesture was part of their responsibility to help create an enabling environment for teaching and learning in the school.
He advised the students to learn hard to pass their examinations, so that the huge investment and resources of parents made in their education would not go to waste.
Mr. James Bambel, the headmaster, thanked the PTA, and enumerated some other challenges facing the school, such as bad roads network and inadequate bungalows for the staff. He called for support from corporate bodies and philanthropists.
Mr. Appiah later told the Ghana News Agency that the PTA was constructing a six-classroom block, and financing the expansion of the girl’s dormitory.
In collaboration with the school administration it had also constructed a clinic for the school.
