President John Dramani Mahama has, upon the recommendation of the Police Council promoted three senior police officers to the rank of Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police (COP) respectively.
DCOP Ransford Ninson currently Director-General in charge of Administration, and DCOP Mrs. Beatrice Vib-Sanziri Director-General in-charge of Human Resource Development, have been promoted to the rank of COP.
The Volta Regional Police Commander ACP Vincent Redeemer Dedjoe has also been promoted to the rank of DCOP.
Their new positions take effect from August 1.
A statement issued and copied to The Ghanaian Times by the Director of Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur said with her promotion COP Vib-Sanziri becomes the second serving female COP after COP Mrs. Rose Bio Atinga, the Director- General in-charge of Research and Planning.
Supt Arthur said Mrs. Vib-Sanziri also becomes the fifth woman Commissioner of Police in the history of the Ghana Police Service, after COP Mrs Christine Jane Donkor Mrs. Bio Atinga, Mrs.Aning-Botwe (Rtd) and Mrs Joana Osei-Poku (Rtd).
