All 24 finalists of this year’s Betway Talent Search will have trials and subsequent contracts with four Betway-sponsored clubs of the Ghana Premier League as the event ended on Friday.

Originally, only eight were supposed to receive contracts from clubs including Medeama, Aduana Stars, Liberty Professionals and AshantiGold but the decision was overturned following the talents displayed by all 24 finalists.

As many as six players would be signed on by some of the clubs following their impressive showing.

Sylvester Simba emerged as the ultimate winner while Clement Boahen and Kwaku Duah followed in second and third positions, respectively.

Eight players have already received contracts with the four clubs. They include Richard Osei and Dodzi Mensah (Aduana Stars), Sylvester Simba and Stephen Dankwa – Medeama; Holyfield Djanie and Clement Boahen – Liberty Professionals as well as John Amoah and Kwaku Duah – Ashgold.

Speaking after the event, Country Manager in charge of Operations at Betway, Magnus Rex Danquah Jnr said this year’s event has seen a massive improvement upon last’s year’s.

He hoped to improve upon the event next year and asked players across the country to look forward to the 2019 edition.

Betway Ambassador and former Black Stars Captain, Stephen Appiah asked the 24 finalists to continue working hard to improve upon their skills.

He commended Betway for giving the players the opportunity to realise their dreams of becoming professional footballers.
