The event, which attracted sister associations, including the Prisons Officers Wives Association and Fire Service Ladies Association was on the theme: “Celebrating a proud past: Empowering the female prison officer for excellence”.
The walk, which was to promote the health of the members started at 6am took participants through the Nsawam market, railways area, the Commercial Bank and the mobile street area.
The Deputy Director of Prisons (DDP) Charity Magnusen, who is in charge of the Nsawam Female Prison, told The Ghanaian Times that PRILAS has contributed to the Ghana Prisons Service over the years.
She advised the prison ladies to be professional and urged them to adopt best healthy life practices to prolong their lives.
DDP Magnusen urged members to go for regular check-ups to know their health status.
