President John Mahama yesterday unveiled the road map for the implementation of an ambitious plan towards achieving what he describes as a rapid economic transformation of the country, in his next term of office.
The plan seeks to actively build on the socio-economic foundation laid through various development interventions in his first term, which he says has placed the country in a good position for a take off for a strong economic growth.
Revealing highlights of the ruling National Democratic Congress’ Manifesto at the Banquet Hall in Accra ahead of the party’s manifesto launch slated for September 17, President Mahama announced strategic plans to boost all the sectors of the economy.
The event, which was attended by representatives of various groups across the country, including trade unions, employers, business and trade associations, civil society, traditional authorities, iinternational organisations, the Diplomatic Corps, the media, student and youth groups, was to provide the platform for the President to explain his administration’s development plan to the country for the next four years, in his bid to win a second term.
