The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Right Reverend Professor Emmanuel Martey, has advised Ghanaians to put the nation first in all their endeavours towards development.

He said there was the need for the people to be patriotic to bring about the desired improvement in the economy.

Rt. Rev. Martey, who made the call at the 60th anniversary launch of the Kaneshie Congregation of the Presbyterian Church, last Sunday, urged the people to take advantage of the enormous opportunities and work towards the national agenda, and be faithful and truthful in the discharge of the roles to the country.

The chairperson of the 60th Anniversary Committee, Nana Okra Abankwa, said the theme for the occasion, “Celebration, Inspiration, Transformation,” was appropriate, and indicated that the climax of the anniversary would be in September 2017, during which the church would inaugurate a multipurpose building.

Mr. Abankwa said that the building would have facilities such as a conference hall, cafeteria and a bookshop, and reiterated the church’s commitment to charity, adding that it would embark on donation to orphanages and revivals in the build up to the climax of the anniversary.
