Pres. appoints new DCEs

dramaniThe President, John Dramani Mahama has nominated four persons for the position of District Chief Executives (DCEs).

A statement issued and signed by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr. Julius Debrah and copied The Ghanaian Times said President Mahama, in accordance with article 243 (3) (b) of the 1992 Constitution, had  directed the revocation of the appointment of Mr Joseph Dofoyenah, District Chief Executives for Ahanta West with immediate effect.

The nominees are Mr Bukari Darimani, Sissala West District and Mr Seidu Cletus Dapila, Jirapa District, both in the Upper West Region.

The others are Mr David Wuni, West Mamprusi District and Mr Sampoa Timothy Laari, Bunkrugu/ Yunyoo, both in the Northern Region.

The statement, said the President had also re-nominated Alhaji Alhassan Musah as DCE for the Kumbungu District in the Northern Region.

The nominations are in accordance with article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and section 20(1) of the Local Government Act, 1993.

The statement requested the regional ministers to initiate the necessary actions for the confirmation of the nominees by the various district assemblies.
