He said, although, the suspect had warned the trespassers against the practice and asked them to stop, they continued to do so.

He said on the fateful day of February 17, at about 10 a.m., the deceased was passing though the house when Kwaw accosted and stabbed her in the neck, chest and shoulder with a kitchen knife.

ASP Adigiya said the victim’s screams, for help attracted a passer-by identified only as Ibrahim, to the scene, who attempted rescuing the girl, but was also stabbed in the neck and behind the ear.

He said some residents came in to assist, and took the girl who was bleeding profusely to the Amasaman Municipal Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

He said Ibrahim, for his part reported to the police who issued him with medical form to hospital where he was treated and discharged.

He said Kwaw, is currently in the custody of the police assisting in investigations and would be charged with causing harm and murder.
