Police pick vital evidence on bank manager’s murder

The police in Kumasi  have picked up crucial evidence to aid them in tracking the armed men who gunned down the Abrepo Branch Manager of Ecobank on Friday.

Reliable sources indicate police had obtained a CCTV footage from the residence of Mr Richard Sallah, who was killed by unknown assailants at dawn on Friday in a suspected armed robbery attack.

The footage is being analysed by the police.

Besides, the police have managed to gain access to the code-protected CCTV device installed at the residence and are studying both footages from the device and evidence from the crime scene.

Source said the police had not as yet revealed the content of the recordings, but indicated their suspicions that the perpetrators, numbering at least four, might live within the community.

Meawhile, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye, has dispatched 10 men to erect crash barriers at vantage points within the Ahenema Kokoben community and surrounding areas.

They are where residents live in isolation — there is no police station from Santase to Ahenema Kokoben.

Additional men have arrived from Accra to assist the Ashanti Regional CID with their investigations.
