Police, Nima Chiefs Collaborate To Ensure Security

(2)The Community Policing Unit of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) and officials of the Nima Police Station on Thursday engaged chiefs of Nima to foster collaborations with them to find solutions to problems confronting the residents.

The meeting set the pace for the chief and the police to discuss ways improving security so as to rid of the community of criminals.

The Director of the Community Policing Unit of the GPS, Chief Superintendent Habiba Twumasi Sarpong , noted that though there was much police visibility on the roads, the police still needed the support the community to maintain law and order

“We believe there should be an interaction between the law enforcement agencies and the law-abiding citizens because it is when we come together as a network that we can expose the few criminals and wrong doers-among us”. she said

Chief Supt Sarpong expressed concern about the rate at which motor riders ride carelessly and disregard traffic rules and asked the rider to respect all traffic regulations and also wear helmets to protect them in the event of an accident. By Linda Aryeetey
