Police intensify search for murderers of Vodafone marketing officer

The Police have intensified its search for the murderers of Mr. Ebow Panford Quainoo, Marketing Officer of Vodafone at his residence, Sakumono, last Wednesday dawn.

The Batsonaa divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Baba S. Adamu who disclosed this to The Ghanaian Times said his outfit was determined to arrest the perpetrators to face prosecution.

He said the division had received support from the Accra Regional Police Command, to intensify day and night patrols to ensure safety of residents.

He appealed to those who have information of the death of Quainoo to contact the police and assured them of their confidentiality

Quainoo, 30, of the Airport branch of the company, was shot in the head while in the house with his wife (name withheld).

The Public Affairs Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Effia Tenge, told The Ghanaian Times, earlier that at about 1:30 am that day, two men armed with a pump action gun, attacked some houses at Sakumono.

The robbers, she said, broke the door to the house of the deceased, entered the bedroom and shot Quainoo while his wife was lying in the living room.

According to ASP Tenge, the wife of the deceased said she heard a loud scream in the bedroom and when she went to enquire, she saw the husband lying in a pool of blood.

One of the men who was holding a stick, ordered her to bring the money in the house, so she took GH¢150 from her purse, lap-top and phone and gave it to the robbers.

The Police PRO said they also took away a flat screen television from the living room and escaped.

ASP Tenge said the body had since been deposited at the Police Hospital for autopsy.

According to her, a house at Vulcaniser area, at Sakumono, was also robbed of their valuables.
