Most of the rings contain gold, hence, its becoming the targets of some armed robbers.

On Sunday evening, the gang stormed a house at Nkoranza, near Santasi in Kumasi, and shot two people in an attempt to rob the household.

They collected the wedding rings and phones of about 10 people in the house before shooting the two in the legs.

The victims, Kwadwo Marfo, broadcast journalist at Kapital Radio and the landlord, only known as Maxwell, President of Mediterranean Project, dealers in mining equipment, are receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Mr. Marfo, who hosts the morning show programme, is said to have visited Maxwell during a family gathering when the incident occurred.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kofi Boakye, Ashanti Regional Police Commander, assured that the suspects would be arrested.

He asked the public to go about their  duties without fear as the police are on top of issues to curb crime in the region.
