Police grab suspected cop killer

The Police in Brong Ahafo on Saturday morning arrested one of the prime suspects who shot and killed Constable Frank Klu in a robbery attack at Bantema, a village near Kwame Danso in the region.

The suspect, Samaha Zaaki, aka Chief Malam, 34 was picked up by the police at his private residence at Kwame Danso through intelligence gathered.

Briefing The Ghanaian Times here, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Christoper Tawiah, the Regional Police Public Relations Officer of the Command said during a search in his room, Zaaki was in possession of two single barrel guns, 20 live ammunitions, machete, bundles of various fake currency denominations in cedis, dollars and pound sterling and mobile phones.

ASP Tawiah said the suspect had been transferred to the Regional Headquarters for interrogation.

Constable Frank Klu was shot dead last week in a robbery attack by highway robbers who had laid ambush on the road while escorting traders from Kwame Danso to the Atebubu market.

The robbers took away the rifle of the police officer and subsequently robbed the passengers of their valuables including cash and other belongings.
