An Accra Circuit Court has remanded three persons into police custody for conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.
The three, Lawrence Etin Oluwagbenga, Samuel Uzoma Eromeosele and Nasiru Obaidoo Solomon, all students pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on June 10.
Chief Inspector K. Adu told the court, presided over by Mr. Aboagye Tandoh that the complainant in the case is a Nigerian student of Wisconsin University College.
He said on May 23 at about 7.30am, the complainant was alone in his room when the accused persons together with one John, now at large attacked him.
He said the accused persons pulled a knife on the complainant and threatened to kill him if he refused to surrender his laptops and phone.
Mr. Adu said when the complainant attempted to hide his i-phone 6, the alleged robbers inflicted knife wounds on his finger and shoulder and collected it and took away two laptops.
The prosecution said the complainant raised an alarm and some neighbours assisted in chasing the alleged robbers and managed to arrest Lawrence who had the items in his possession while the others managed to flee.
He said the complainant and his neighbours handed over Lawrence to the police and during investigations; he mentioned the other accused persons as accomplices and also described their modus operandi to the police.
Nasiru and Samuel reported themselves upon hearing that they were wanted by the police.
The three were charged with the offence.
