Police Arrest Two Nigerian Robbers

Two Nigerians have been arrested by the police here for attempting to rob one Francis Nyame, of his cash totaling GHc3,000, from his car at the Harlem Restaurant on the Harbour road, last Friday.

The suspects, Ododire Eberende alias, Emeka, 21 and Stephen Onwondi, alias, Jerry, 28, are police custody while investigations continued.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Oliva Ewurabena Adiku, both suspects were resident in Accra and that Ododire, claimed he was footballer while Stephen said, he was mobile phone dealer.

She told The Ghanaian Times that, On July 9, Ododire took the lead to Takoradi and booked room at Appollo Hotel, at Apremdo whilst Stephen joined him later riding on motorbike with the registration number M-13-NR 6277,fromAccra.

On Friday, July 10,ASP Adiku said, the suspects using the motorbike trailed Francis Nyame, who had cashed GHc3,000 from the National Investment Bank (NIB) and went to the Harlem restaurant but left the money in his Toyota Sequola 4Runner vehicle, with registration number AS 5997 Y.

Ododire, she added, used a special metal implement adapted for opening car doors and removed the money and attempted to join Stephen on a motor bike, waiting for him, but someone saw them and raised the alarm ,leading to their arrest. From Clement  Adzei Boye, Takoradi
